A new United Nations report paints a grim picture of world progress in on gender equality, one of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals to reach by 2030. 

Looking at poverty levels, political representation, gender discrimination and more, authors concluded the world is, quote, "failing women and girls." In the U.S., gender pay disparity is an issue that women have been fighting for years, with very slow progress to show for it.
