Did you know the Chinese character for “weapon” means “stop wars?” Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Xie Feng helped children learn Chinese through the shape and the similarity between Chinese and English phrases on Tuesday, October 19.

Ambassador Xie Feng delivered a speech at the premiere of “Chinese Puzzle,” a documentary about the evolution of Chinese language teaching and learning in the U.S. He also interacted with elementary and middle school students learning Chinese in Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Xie noted that learning Chinese requires “PUZZLE” - persistence, understanding, zeal, zest, listening, and empathy. He expressed his gratitude to the teachers, volunteers, and advocates of Chinese language teaching in the United States.
