In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's 2022 decision to overturn the nationwide right to #abortion, several state supreme courts are now grappling with abortion-related cases.

In #Texas, Kate Cox, facing serious pregnancy complications, sought immediate access to an abortion due to risks to her health and future fertility. Although a lower court initially allowed her abortion, the Texas #SupremeCourt ultimately ruled against her, and she obtained an abortion in another state.

#Arizona is dealing with confusion over its abortion laws. The state has a pre-statehood ban from 1864 and a separate 15-week ban passed just before Roe v. Wade was overturned. The Arizona Supreme Court is set to decide which law applies.

In #NewMexico, local governments have passed abortion bans despite the state allowing abortions at all stages of pregnancy. The state's attorney general is challenging these bans, arguing they violate the state constitution.

#Wyoming is also seeing legal debates over its abortion ban, with a district court judge pausing enforcement of the ban and considering whether to proceed with a trial or decide based on legal arguments.

Meanwhile, #Michigan is reinforcing abortion rights after voters approved a ballot initiative. Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the Reproductive Health Act, which includes repealing a law that banned insurance coverage for abortions without a separate rider.
