San Diego International Airport has been working for the last decade to ease its carbon footprint. The airport is run 100 percent on renewable energy, using solar panels and a fleet of electric vehicles.
The airport also captures stormwater and reuses it in watering its green areas and allows passengers to calculate their carbon footprint and contribute that amount to an environmental conservation project.
