The U.S. central bank on Wednesday confirmed it’s ready to begin cutting its benchmark interest rate as inflation drops closer to its target range.
The Federal Reserve held off raising the rate it hiked dramatically to force prices down.
And new data suggests projections about damaging the economy through those aggressive rises have been upended.
