The 8th summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States has concluded in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Representatives from the group's 33 member countries failed to reach a unified stance regarding the Gaza conflict.
Outgoing CELAC coordinator Ambassador Douglas Slater told the closing press conference that the summit failed to reach a common position after eight members did not agree with the proposed position on the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
He stressed that unanimity must be achieved before a CELAC position is declared.
