Sea levels have risen at accelerated pace in Brazil

Scientists in Brazil have measured changes on the coast of São Paulo over the last seven decades. Our correspondent in Brazil, Paulo Cabral, brings us the details from the coastal city of Santos. 

Researchers from the University of São Paulo, who've been monitoring sea levels at two points along the state's coast for the last seventy-three years. Their conclusion: The sea rose 20 centimeters during this period —with an acceleration over the last nine years.
