While international officials work to get a transitional council for Haiti in place in the coming days, the chaos and struggle of everyday life has changed little for Haitians on their home soil. 

The latest crisis of the last two weeks is spilling into neighboring Dominican Republic, which has reinforced controls along its western border with the Caribbean nation.
