National Association of Realtors settles suit over alleged inflating of commissions

Buying and selling a home in the U.S. will soon get a little more interesting.

The National Association of Realtors, the trade group representing real estate agents in the U.S., recently settled lawsuits alleging the NAR artificially inflated commissions paid by home sellers.

The group will pay $418 million in damages and change how commissions are paid to agents. The White House says the settlement will help lower home prices, but that is far from certain.
