The “Raising the Bar on Mathematics Education: Lessons from Near and Far,” was hosted by the Forum for World Education (FWE) seminar this week, where the growing concern over the future of children’s education in the United States was addressed.
The FWE says the event is a direct response to the downturn in U.S. students’ math performances and achievements on the global stage. Teaching methodologies inspired by the educational practices of Shanghai, China, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s PISA study in the UK were explored at the forum.
