New data from Johns Hopkins University highlights a dangerous and unintended consequence of abortion bans: Infant mortality. The research, published in the medical journal, JAMA Pediatrics, shows infant deaths in Texas spiked after the state banned abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat. It’s among the first studies to evaluate the impact of strict abortion bans. Toni Waterman reports from Austin about whether the ban could be repeated in other states.
