Leaders and high-level officials of the Mercosur bloc are meeting this week in Paraguay.

The event includes representatives of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and the soon-to-be new member Bolivia, as well as the host country Paraguay.

On Monday, July 8, Brazil's president urged all parties to strengthen democracy in the region. His comments follow last month's failed military coup in Bolivia.
