The recent conclusion of China's third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has sparked discussions on the country's economic future and strategic reforms. The adoption of a reform resolution is the most important outcome of the plenum. The resolution puts forward more than 300 important reform measures, all of which involve reforms on the levels of systems, mechanisms, and institutions.
With today's vastly different global landscape, including trade tensions and geopolitical issues, China faces the opportunities and challenges of evolving its economic model to sustain growth. As Beijing navigates these complexities, the world will be watching how these reforms will shape China’s future.
We spoke to several experts on China to shed light on these developments. Yukon Huang, senior fellow at the Carnegie Asia program, Albert Keidel, economist and adjunct professor at George Washington University, and Jeff Moon, president of China Moon Strategies and former U.S. Trade Representative to China, join us to analyze the impact of these reforms in our special titled “Embracing Modernization: China’s Reforms and Innovation”.
