When it comes to table tennis at the Paris Olympics, China will once again be the nation to beat. They have won 32 of the 37 gold medals on offer since the sport made its Olympic debut in 1998.
The legendary Ma Long will be looking for a sixth Olympic gold medal. Although he missed out on a spot on China’s singles team, he was picked for the team event.
Steve Dainton is the head of the International Table Tennis Federation. He told CGTN’s Dan Williams that if Long achieves that sixth gold, it would cement his place as the greatest player of all time.
