New wildfires force evacuations in Southern California

A state of emergency has been issued in California’s San Bernardino County, where a wildfire that sparked earlier this week has now doubled in size and forced thousands to evacuate.

It comes amid a dangerous record-breaking heatwave that's brought scorching temperatures to the region and is expected to persist through Monday, September 9.
