A staggering 400 million students around the world have experienced school closures from extreme weather since 2022, according to a recent report by the World Bank. The report also shows that a 10-year-old child today will experience three times more floods, five times more droughts, and 36 times more heat waves over their lifetime compared to a 10-year-old back in 1970.
Authors of the report emphasize that governments need to take urgent action in order to prevent major losses in the education of new generations. CGTN’s Ediz Tiyansan shares the latest here.
