The climate crisis is creating more challenges for refugees and internally displaced people, according to the United Nations Refugee Agency. Climate change and displacement are increasingly interconnected, experts say, as many who flee persecution, conflict, or violence now find themselves in regions more vulnerable to extreme weather.
