Large parts of the northern hemisphere were at a standstill this Monday, Jan. 6 after a polar vortex triggered a blizzard and record snowfalls. Much of the eastern and southern U.S. was hit a day after similar conditions in northern Europe and parts of Asia. Owen Fairclough reports.
