California Governor Gavin Newsom ordered an investigation on Friday into the causes behind water supply problems that hindered firefighting efforts. He said reports of water shortages are “deeply troubling.” In the meantime, some communities threatened by fires had to rely on their own means to mitigate the water crisis.
