U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to take the first formal steps toward abolishing the Department of Education, according to reports out Thursday, Mar. 6. Trump has long complained about public schools that serve some 50 million students using programs to address systemic racism and supporting diversity. But the president is likely to run into congressional roadblocks as opponents accuse him of trying to privatize public education. Owen Fairclough reports.
