U.S. ends duty-free rule for cheap Chinese imports

A major tariff exemption known as the “de minimis rule” ends this Friday, affecting low-value items imported from China. The rule had allowed packages under $800 to enter the U.S. without taxes or inspections. Now, businesses must reconsider supply chains, and shoppers could see price hikes.
