You may have heard that many cities around the world from Jakarta to Beijing to Venice, are all sinking at various rates. Researchers point to a rise in sea-levels, groundwater depletion and urban infrastructure as some of the reasons. Sinking land is also affecting a number of major cities in the U.S. — but it’s never been easy to measure, until perhaps now. Mark Niu has more.
