Washington D.C. authorities are now throwing a ring of steel around the U.S. capital’s downtown to prepare for a huge military parade. The event on Saturday, June 14, marks the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. The day also happens to be U.S. President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
While U.S. President says this is an opportunity to display American military prowess, the optics are difficult for some, with U.S. soldiers on the streets of Los Angeles, as they crack down on protests over the White House’s sweeping operation to arrest undocumented migrants.
