Colombia has set its sights on Asia in a plan to diversify its economy.
In May, President Gustavo Petro traveled to China as President pro-tempore of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean states, where he formalized Colombia’s entry in China’s Belt and Road Initiative. And last month, Colombia joined the New Development Bank, established by the BRICS nations.
