A dangerous heat dome is roasting the eastern half of the United States, with cities from Washington, DC to Boston facing extreme temperatures well into the weekend. 

Over 80 million people are under heat advisories, with "feels like" temperatures soaring past 100°F. Meanwhile, the West Coast is seeing an unusually cool summer. Experts say climate change is making these deadly heat waves more intense and frequent.
