The latest move in the Trump administration’s battle with higher education takes aim at the University of California, Los Angeles, freezing hundreds of millions of dollars in research funding for the public institution. It alleges some of the school’s policies violate federal anti-discrimination laws.
It comes as other U.S. universities have reached settlements with the government to restore federal funding.
