U.S. and Ecuador cooperate to combat cartels

The U.S. government says criminal gangs want to control drug trafficking routes through Ecuador by terrorism and violence. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was in the South American country last week when he announced new measures targeting two major foreign terrorist organizations — part of Washington’s tougher stance against Latin American cartels.
