Prisoners released by Belarus on Friday, Sept. 12, hailed U.S. President Donald Trump for their liberation. Trump helped broker the latest deal in exchange for an easing of sanctions against one of Russia’s staunchest allies. 

But Trump’s attempts to bring a long isolated Russian neighbor closer to the West is alarming some U.S. allies, as CGTN’s Owen Fairclough reports.
