The U.S. government shutdown took a new and confusing turn on Sunday, Oct. 12, with reports that the Trump administration has reversed course on plans to dismiss hundreds of federal employees.
Among those affected are staff at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, part of roughly 4,000 government workers facing job losses as the shutdown drags into its third week.
