The International Monetary Fund says growing government debt is becoming a serious risk for the world’s economy. Many countries borrowed heavily during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the IMF says they’re not doing enough to lower their debts. As the IMF and World Bank meet in Washington, there are also worries about the U.S. government’s large debt. Owen Fairclough reports.
