Chinese movie Ne Zha 2 became the world’s highest‑grossing animated film of all time earlier this year.

The film has earned more than $2.2 billion worldwide, breaking records in China and abroad.

But it’s not just a domestic hit, many experts say its success marks a turning point for China’s film industry, showing that its filmmakers and stories are now major players on the global animation stage.
