First week of UN Climate Conference brings protests and hope for change

The 30th UN Climate Change Conference, or COP30, being held in Belém, Brazil has been marked by protests and criticism over the absence of the United States during its first week. This comes as negotiations are underway at a conference billed as crucial for implementing global climate commitments. 

Scientists warn the planet is approaching a temperature threshold from which there may be no return.
