Colombia’s defense minister urges global action to protect the Amazon

In Colombia, climate change poses a particular threat to the country's natural resources.  The South American nation holds close to 10 percent of the planet’s biodiversity. But illicit endeavors - such as illegal logging, mining, and the drug trade - all impact water sources and significantly contribute to land degradation.

CGTN Correspondent Michelle Begue sat down with Colombia's Minister of Defense, who wanted to send a message to world leaders currently meeting in Brazil for the COP 30 UN Climate Change Conference.
