U.S. abstains from attending G20 amid tensions with South Africa

Some of the leaders from around the world are beginning to gather for the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. There will be some notable absences - the U.S. president and vice president. 

President Donald Trump has accused the South African government of conducting a genocide against its White minority, claims that have been widely discredited. And a last-minute dispute between Washington and Pretoria over whether the U.S. had changed its mind and will send a delegation has overshadowed the opening of the summit.
