A signature initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump’s second term has ended eight months early, despite some reports that say it still exists in a different form.

A senior administration official is confirming the Department of Government Efficiency, known as “DOGE” is gone, but maintains the work will continue.  Elon Musk was a polarizing figure in DOGE for months, before leaving the government and engaging in a very public feud with Trump.
