U.S. President Trump has announced a $12 billion aid program to help farmers suffering under the trade war he and his administration launched earlier this year.
While purchases of soybeans and other crops have increased since the trade truce announced with China farmers say they need help through the winter, and the White House is keen to keep this key constituency on its side.
