Disney’s latest animated sequel, Zootopia 2, is drawing audiences back into theaters worldwide. Nearly half of the film’s ticket sales have come from China, reminding Hollywood executives of the scale and the strategic importance of the Chinese film market.
Zootopia 2’s universal themes of diversity, social harmony, and empathy, resonate with audiences everywhere, but China’s massive, urbanized market and appetite for family-friendly global content helped the film connect with millions.
