After lower-than-expected inflation data last week, U.S. President Donald Trump received another political boost on Tuesday, Dec. 23 with new figures showing the U.S. economy posted strong growth over the summer, despite the impact of his tariffs.
However, the same data underscored a familiar challenge: overall inflation continued to rise, complicating the president’s repeated claims that the cost of living is falling for Americans.
