Hundreds of peaceful demonstrators took to Times Square in New York City on Saturday, Jan. 3 to protest U.S. military action in Venezuela, joining a wave of “No War on Venezuela” protests planned nationwide after Washington’s strikes and the forcible seizure of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
Many carried Venezuelan flags and signs reading slogans like “Hands off Venezuela,” “Stop bombing Venezuela,” and “U.S. out of the Caribbean,” and chanted against what they described as unjust aggression and intervention driven by geopolitical and economic interests.
Organizers and participants framed the rally as part of a broader anti-war movement opposing U.S. military escalation without congressional approval, with many calling for peace and respect for Venezuelan sovereignty.
