Multiple ambassadors to the United Nations, including some U.S. allies, have criticized the U.S. military operation in Venezuela.

Following the forcible seizure of Nicolas Maduro and his wife on Jan. 3, his vice president Delcy Rodriguez was formally sworn in as acting president on Monday, Jan. 5.
