U.S. President Trump’s desire to make Greenland part of the United States has rocked the Western Alliance and soured relationships with other allies, but U.S. designs on the Danish territory are nothing new.
U.S. interest in owning the Arctic island dates back to the 19th-century purchase of Alaska from Russia. Those designs never went away completely. CGTN’s Diane Hodges reports.
