On the tenth day of searching for the missing mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, authorities released surveillance footage of a masked and armed individual filmed tampering with the front door camera of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.
The FBI, Pima County law enforcement and the Guthrie family continue to ask the public for assistance in locating the 84-year-old, who seemingly vanished without a trace on Feb. 1.
The images taken from Guthrie’s Google Nest camera show an unknown person wearing a face mask, gloves, backpack and an apparent gun holster.
Two unauthenticated ransom notes were initially delivered to news media with reported deadlines for cryptocurrency payments that have since expired. The Guthrie family has made several videos imploring the kidnappers to return their mother and offering to pay.
“Law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance,” FBI Director Kash Patel said Tuesday, Feb. 10. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for any information leading to the recovery of the elder Guthrie.
