Oil blockade deepens Cuba’s economic and humanitarian crisis

For more than six decades, the United States embargo has weighed heavily on Cuba, contributing to chronic shortages of food, medicine, and fuel. Last month, Washington imposed a new oil blockade that has further strained the island’s already fragile economy, leading to partial shutdowns and worsening supply disruptions.

The United Nations warns that the tightening restrictions are intensifying Cuba’s humanitarian crisis. In response, the Cuban government has introduced emergency measures aimed at managing severe fuel shortages and stabilizing essential services. CGTN's Luis Chirino reports.
