Hospitality workers hit by California's drop in tourism

The travel industry contributes roughly $2.6 trillion to the American economy, supporting more than 20 million jobs nationwide. But a sustained drop in international travel is now taking a toll, with nearly $12.5 billion dollars lost in international visitor spending in 2025. 

The slowdown is already rippling through the hospitality sector, where investment is stalling and labor shortages are deepening.
