Before Chinese President Xi Jinping outlined his Global Governance Initiative last September, there was the Global Development Initiative, proposed back in 2021. Both plans promote equitable international development. And as China's political figures meet at the Two Sessions in Beijing, the future of South-South cooperation will be closely watched from the other side of the Pacific.
