China's position on US-Israeli strikes on Iran

Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Tuesday, March 3, that China finds the U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran is "unacceptable" as is the "blatant killing" of a sovereign leader and the incitement of regime change. Mao also said the U.S. and Israel have violated international law and China calls for an end to all military action, the resumption to negotiations as soon as possible and a joint opposition to unilateral actions. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Tuesday, March 3, that China respects Iran's legitimate right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and added that Iran has repeatedly reiterated its "lack of intention to develop nuclear weapons".  Mao said China calls for an end to military action and a resumption of talks as soon as possible. China's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said on Monday, March 2, that the recent U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran have no UN Security Council authorization and violate international law. She added that China is deeply concerned over regional spillover and supports the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the Gulf states. China urges all parties to stop military operations and prevent further spread of the conflict.
