China's poverty reduction serves as case study for other nations

A landmark anti-poverty achievement by the Chinese government is drawing international recognition. A joint study by China’s Ministry of Finance, the Development Research Center of the State Council, and the World Bank found that nearly 800 million people were lifted out of poverty over four decades. As senior officials outline new policy priorities during the annual Two Sessions meetings, some U.S.-based experts are pointing to China’s approach as a case study, highlighting potential lessons for American lawmakers.
