U.S. President Donald Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at the White House on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
This is Takaichi’s first trip to Washington since leading her Liberal Democratic Party to victory last month.
The three-day visit comes as the U.S. pushes allies for support securing the Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing conflict in Iran.
