Two people have been killed and dozens injured after an Air Canada flight collided with a Port Authority vehicle on the runway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Sunday night, March 22.
The New York Police Department confirmed the incident, which occurred at around 11:38 p.m., prompting an emergency response from the Fire Department. Authorities say the aircraft struck a fire truck after landing. Images from the scene show significant damage to the front of the plane.
LaGuardia Airport has been temporarily closed, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, as investigations into the cause of the collision continue.
