"We're giving it 5 days."

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday, March 23, that planned strikes on Iran have been delayed as negotiations continue, giving diplomacy a five-day window.

Trump said talks had been “very, very good” and that there is a “very good chance” of a deal. He added that Iran now “means business” and that any agreement could leave “everybody happy.”

The pause comes as Washington had been preparing potential strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure, raising fears of wider escalation. But Iran denies that any talks with the United States are taking place.

With conflicting claims and a five-day deadline, the question now is whether this leads to a peace deal or a return to military action.
